Hello Craft Friends!
I am back with another card post featuring a monochromatic color scheme. A lot of people seem to shy away from black but I love it. Personally, I wear black almost all day everyday. I think the embossing makes the sentiment the real focal point and the flower background add a softness to the card.
I used the Altenew Adore You set to stamp a background with distress oxide ink in Hickory Smoke, a really nice grey on a regular size card panel (4.25in x 5.5in). Once I was done stamping I used a stitched rectangle die to make it slightly smaller then my card base. My card base is 100lb black card stock from Recollections (Michaels brand of card stock).
I heat embossed the sentiment ‘Hope you’re feeling better soon’ on a scalloped circle I die cut (I have a bunch of small die cuts in a receipt holder to use for sentiments) from a Pretty Pink Posh set and then adhered it to some thick vellum that I cut down into a 1 inch strip. I used the Stampendous copper embossing powder and as a finishing touch I added some varying sizes of black little jewels I had in my stash.
